Coffee Can Make You Hear Ghosts...And Science Backs It
Share
Alright, this one’s gonna blow your mind. You know that wired, slightly jittery feeling you get when you’ve had one too many cups of coffee? Turns out, if you push past that, caffeine can actually make you hallucinate. Yeah, you read that right.
Researchers have found that consuming extreme amounts of caffeine, we’re talking seven cups or more in a short period, can trigger mild hallucinations, like hearing voices or seeing things that aren’t there. The reason? Caffeine ramps up cortisol, the stress hormone, and when your body hits peak overdrive, your brain starts playing tricks on you.
There was even a study where people who drank a ton of coffee were more likely to report hearing unexplained voices. Imagine just sipping your espresso and suddenly thinking someone called your name when no one’s around.
Now, obviously, this isn’t something that happens to everyone, and you’d have to be really pushing the caffeine limits, but still… next time you’re on cup number six, just know, you might be one sip away from a little extra reality.
Our coffee is strong, but don't worry lol It wont cause you to hear things... Unless you drink a lot at once.
